Seeking Nominations for vacancy on SUD Board of Commissioners

SUMMERTOWN UTILITY DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

PUBLIC NOTICE

A position on the Board of Commissioners of the Summertown Utility District (SUD) is now vacant, and nominations are being accepted for the position.

Eligibility and Qualifications
To qualify to serve as a Commissioner of SUD, the nominee must meet the following criteria:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a current active customer of SUD
• Be willing to take the Oath of Office
• Complete 12 hours of mandatory Commissioner training within 12 months of appointment
• Be willing to attend monthly meetings of the Board on the third Monday of each month

Nomination Process

• Only current active customers of SUD may nominate potential Commissioners.

• Current active customers of SUD may nominate themselves or another current active customer of SUD.
• If nominating another customer, the written nomination must include a written statement from the nominee confirming their willingness to serve as a Commissioner for SUD.
• Anonymous nominations will not be considered.

Submission Deadline
All nominations must be submitted in writing to the Summertown Utility District office at 104 Shady Street, Summertown, TN, by 4:30 PM Central Time on Friday, March 14, 2025.

A list of nominees will be compiled and submitted to the Lawrence County Executive for selection. The term for the person selected for this vacant position will end on May 31, 2028.
